Project Based Learning and The Arts

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about cultural stories and the big question was;
What is the significance in the 21st Century of our Cultural stories?

First we brainstormed what culture is and came up with lots of ideas. Culture is when people celebrate their own traditions around the world .

Then we thought about our own culture and talked to our parents about our traditions and heritage. I wrote a post about my family and things we like to do.
In Literacy we read and discussed myths and legends from around the world then we concentrated on Maori legends. I read  The battle of the mountains, Maui and the Sun and others.

We made a performance about the story Battle of the Mountains. Some students wrote the script, some students took on the job of making all the artwork, some worked hard on organising the music and others took on the role of bringing the story alive with dance and drama.

Reflection:
For our production I contributed by adding some bits to the script adding some parts to make it interesting.

I think the show might impact on others by they will remember the story of the battle of the mountain because we acted it out

What I learned about working with others was being in a group gives more ideas to use.

Reading

                                                             Reading Evidence
Welcome back to Lexi's blog

Today I'll be talking to you about reading so I'll be telling you about what book I've been reading .

So one day this boy and his sister called Jo were in her room and the boy said "Was that a fantail that just flew in the window  he was getting so worried because he knows if a fantail fly through the window then its bad luck like someone could die and Jo didn't know that so then he got so worried and told his family and they didn't believe him so he read the story about the fantail flying through the window and that someone did die.so then he went to hide and then he went back to see what it was doing and it actually was just a pair of socks flying through the window

Have you ever had a fantail fly through your window?

our new timetable

Welcome back to my blog. I am going to be talking about our new timetable we have been doing this week. We have a sheet to show people that are making there sandwiches so they know when it is our turns to make them. They have labels above the plates so you know what sandwiches  you are going to eat. We have the sandwiches because it makes you mind work harder and you think better. You can carry your drink bottles  around to help you think as well and has been helping me .

What will you do to help you think better ???

robotics

Welcome back to my blog. Today I'll be sharing about Robotics. This is what we have been doing.

This is a whole other world. When you put them on it
is like you are in a forest. You see dinosaurs.  It's interesting.
                                                                      Hope you enjoyed this post.

Have you ever tried Robotics?
